Cascade Orthopaedics is a fast paced and growing orthopedic practice seeking an experienced and reliable Referral Coordinator. This is a Part-Time position with no weekends that can eventually grow into a full time position.
The Referral Coordinator position aides in the patient flow process by ensuring proper authorization for procedures and appointments are obtained according to company policy and/or physician preference. The Referral Coordinator functions as the liaison between the patient and clinic as a primary point of contact to ensure their experience with Cascade is of the highest standard.
Ideal candidate for this position is friendly, outgoing, organized, hardworking, dependable, flexible, experienced in insurance and, scheduling. Must be detailed and goal-oriented. The Referral Coordinator works under the direction of the Operations Managers.
Essential Skills: Communicate via phone, online chats and emails with patients in a professional manner. Use pre-defined clinical protocols and identify special needs and take the proper steps to ensure patient appointments are scheduled appropriately. Demonstrate the ability to multitask so that priority items are completed on time each day. Appropriately escalate issues outside of existing protocols to meet the needs of the patient. Work well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment.
Referral Coordinator must be fluent in medical terminology, orthopaedics and musculoskeletal anatomy needed. Knowledge in insurance verification, and L&I a plus. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Works efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, clinic environment. Experienced in properly handling confidential and sensitive information, knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations. Computer skills and knowledge of medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems.

Required Qualifications & Certifications:
• One to Three years’ experience as a Referral Coordinator in a healthcare environment preferred.
