Meet Brereton B Strafford, MD

Dr. Brereton Strafford, MD began practicing Orthopedic Surgery in South King County in 1992. He graduated cum laude from Princeton University where he rowed crew, and received his Medical Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Graduating as a member of AOA, the medical honor society, he remained at the University of Pennsylvania for orthopedic training.

He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at one of the premier training programs in the country, the Southern California Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Strafford has a special interest in arthroscopic knee and shoulder procedures, and has served as an instructor at several national meetings. 

He has been recognized as a top doctor in several national magazines, and has served as chief of surgery for multicare auburn medical center. He has been a medical member of the Alpental ski patrol for over 20 years, and is an avid fly fisherman. He strongly believes in the sports medicine philosophy of minimizing down time due to injuries, and strives to understand the impact of musculoskeletal problems on his patients’ lives.

Dr. Strafford enjoys participating in a wide variety of outdoor sports, and having been on the receiving end of several orthopedic injuries, has a personal understanding of their impact.
